My first Washington Capitals Game

Today, I went to the Capitals preseason game against the Flyers, but unfortunately, they lost 2-6. Sitting next to a very annoying Flyers fan made things a little frustrating, but there were still some really fun moments!

During warm-ups, Hendrix Lapierre smiled at me, and I was so happy because I think he recognized me from last season when I wore my blue Chicoutimi Saguenéens jersey. It was really cool to know he remembered me!

I also got a picture with Coach Nelson.  This was the second time I’d met him and had my photo taken with him. I took a lot of photos for my friend, but sadly Dubé wasn’t there.  I even got a picture with Slapshot, the Capitals’ mascot. I really wanted to see Ovechkin, but he wasn’t playing today. Oh and the jumbotron in the arena was gigantic, it felt like it covered the whole place!

One memorable thing about today was getting to see a new arena for the first time. On the drive there, we passed some cool landmarks like the U.S. Capitol building, the Pentagon, and the Washington Monument, which made the trip even more special.
