Washington Capitals vs. Philadelphia Flyers Preseason Game – September 25, 2025

On September 25, 2025, I went to the Giant Center in Hershey with my mom, dad, and brother CJ to watch the Washington Capitals play the Philadelphia Flyers in a preseason game. It felt a little weird walking back into the arena since we hadn’t been there since the Bears lost in the playoffs. We didn’t stop anywhere—we just headed straight in because I was too excited for hockey to start again.

Our seats had a really good view, and the first thing I noticed was how many people were there. The game was completely sold out with over 10,000 fans. It felt different than a regular Bears game because so many Capitals players were former Bears, which made it even more fun to watch.

During the game, the speed really stood out. It was faster than the Bears games I usually go to, and the players were skating hard every shift. My favorite player, Hendrix Lapierre, had an amazing night with 3 assists! One thing that surprised me was that Dylan McIlrath didn’t get into a fight—I almost expected it, but it never happened.

The crowd cheered a lot for the Capitals, especially in the section where we were sitting. The atmosphere made the game even more exciting. The best part for me, though, wasn’t just the hockey. I loved being there with my family and getting to see some of my friends at the game.

The Capitals ended up winning 4-1, and it was such a great way to kick off the season. Being back in the arena, surrounded by so many fans, made me even more excited for hockey this year.
