Bears Practice at Hershey Park Arena

by | Dec 26, 2024 | Miscellaneous

On Saturday, December 21st, I went to the Hershey Bears practice at the Hersheypark Arena with my dad. It was such a cool experience because the Hersheypark Arena is really different from the Giant Center. The Giant Center is big and new, and you can get super close to the ice and players. But the Hersheypark Arena is smaller and older, so it’s harder to get as close. It still felt special, though, because the history of the place makes it feel extra neat.

The players were working really hard during practice. They did a lot of skating drills and practiced game scenarios. It looked tough! It’s always fun to watch how fast and skilled they are. Even though it was just practice, you could tell they were giving it their all.  I also got two pucks.

I brought Christmas cards to give out to some of the players and staff. My “bestie” Kyle, one of the equipment managers, got one, and he even gave me a hug, which made my day! I also gave cards to Bryan Helmer, who is the VP of Hockey Operations for the Bears, Vinny Iorio, my buddy Zack Fisch, and a few others. Some players went out a different exit, so I missed Chase Priskie and Garrett Roe. I hope I can see them after Christmas to give them their cards.

Everyone was so nice and thankful when I handed them the cards. It made me feel really happy to spread some holiday cheer. The Hershey Bears are just the best because they’re so friendly and down-to-earth.

After practice, my dad and I went to Sheetz, which was my favorite part of the day. Nothing beats a Sheetz run after watching hockey!

This was such a fun day, and I loved getting to see the players work hard on the ice. It’s always a good time when I get to watch the Bears and spend time with my dad. I can’t wait for the next hockey adventure!
