Attending a Washington Capitals Game!

On November 29, 2024, instead of shopping we went to my very first regular season Washington Capitals game, and it was AWESOME! I went with my brother, CJ, and my dad. We had so much fun, and I can’t wait to share everything about it.

Washing Capitals Game

Before the game, we went to 90-Second Pizza right across the street from the arena. We had pepperoni pizza, but I didn’t like the green leaves on it! After lunch, we walked around a Christmas market with lots of vendors and cool things to look at. I was cold outside.  Then we went inside the arena, where we checked out the team stores. They had lots of used hockey equipment like sticks, helmets, and jerseys. CJ really wanted an Andrew Mangiapane stick, but it cost $250!  There was too much Ovechkin stuff and not enough of other players like Lappy or my dad’s favorite Dylan McIlrath.

When we got into the arena, the atmosphere was so fun. The people were kind, but the light show was a little over done in my opinion. Some parts were cool, but it was very noisy! I stood near the glass during warm-ups, even though it was super crowded. It was so exciting to see the players up close, including my favorite player, Hendrix Lapierre. I made a sign for him, and when he saw it, he smiled at me!

The game itself was amazing. The score went back and forth, and it even went into overtime! The Capitals scored the winning goal in overtime, which was so cool. There was one moment when a goal was waved off because they called Hendrix for goaltender interference, but it was still an awesome game. The Islanders fans sitting in front of us made it fun too.

The people with Slapshot liked my Hendrix Lapierre jersey, which was super nice of them. My dad even got some free beanie hats during the game!

This was such a fun experience, and I can’t wait to go to another game with my family. Thanks for reading about my Capitals game tripWashing Capitals Game 2 —stay tuned for more of my hockey adventures!
