First Home Preseason Game Recap: Bears vs. Penguins
I was so excited for the first home game of the Hershey Bears preseason against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins! The atmosphere was buzzing, with about 3,300 fans in attendance. While it wasn’t quite like a regular game, it was still a lot of fun. My friends and I raced to get seats right behind the Bears’ bench, which was an amazing spot to watch the action unfold.
The Bears played well, showcasing a mix of young talent and veteran players. They pulled off a thrilling victory, winning 4-3! One of the highlights of my night was hanging out with my friend Vicky, who I only see at Bears games. Before the game, I had a quick chat with Hardy Häman Aktell, and I felt special when Clay Stevenson, the Bears goalie, waved at me while Pierck Dubé smiled from the bench.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see Coco, the Bears’ mascot, this time, and the players didn’t come out to meet fans after the game as they do during regular games. However, I did receive a ton of fist bumps and high-fives from the players, which was a lot of fun!
Overall, my experience at the game was fantastic. Preseason games are enjoyable, and I recommend them to other fans! It’s a great opportunity to see different players, and it doesn’t matter if they win or lose. I’m looking forward to the first regular season home game on October 12th!
